Dick Palamidessi

Dick Palamidessi was a lifelong Tacoma resident who achieved great success as both an athlete and coach. Born March 5, 1931, in Tacoma, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949. He played infield and outfield on the baseball diamond as well as basketball at Lincoln, and he also played ball for 26th & Proctor in the City League.

Palamidessi served in the Army before enrolling at University of Puget Sound, where he received a degree in Education. His first teaching job was at Gault Junior High, where he taught Social Studies and coached from 1961-67. He moved on to Wilson High School, where he taught physical education and coached baseball and basketball before retiring in 1985 as head of the physical education department and athletic director.
