Jack Bratlie

He came to Pacific Lutheran College from Ridgefield High School and become one of Tacoma-Pierce County’s best baseball players. He was a three-sporter for the Lutes and the football and baseball teams he played on captured Evergreen Conference championships. It was no coincidence that Bratlie’s baseball teams won titles in College, City League and Valley League play. He played for Spanaway, Eatonville, South Tacoma and the Woodworth Contractors in city and valley competition and was highly regarded as one of the finest-ever infielders in the area. One of the leading buffers in the City League year offer year, he was named to the City League All-Star team. Bratlie also coached in the area with assignments in football, basketball and baseball at Orting, football and baseball at Eatonville. As a school administrator Bratlie’s career also was local, at Orting, Eatonville and Clover Park.
