2004 Hall of Fame Inductees SPONSOR
Len Manke & Cloverleaf Tavern

Len Manke bought the Cloverleaf Tavern in 1971 and for the next 32 years he invested in his business by sponsoring teams. One thing about Len is that when he does something he does it right. The reputation of the "monster" Cloverleaf special pizzas are legendary. The same holds true for his commitment to sponsoring teams! Among the teams to benefit from his generosity were men's, women's and corec slowpitch; men's fastpitch; men's, women's and corec basketball; men's, women's and corec volleyball; men's and women's bowling; football; golf tournaments; darts; shuffleboard; handball teams and tournaments; the Daffodil Basketball Classic; the Puyallup River Race; and the Tacoma Athletic Commission fireworks show. Another popular event occurred during the football and basketball season when he sponsored broadcaster Art Popham's "Friday Night at the Leaf" radio show. For years the "Leaf" was headquarters for football and basketball coaches after their games. Asked to recall one of many highlights over the years, in true Manke fashion Len responded, "I cashed thousands of unsigned game checks for officials over the years!" Undoubtedly, those officials and the many players thank him for his generosity.
