Bill Geppert

Another Lincoln high grad who starred in three sports in high school, Geppert played both football and baseball at Washington State University. He was a catcher in baseball and a lineman in football for the Cougars for four years and played for several City and Valley League teams during the summer. He was one of the leading hitters and the catcher on Busch's Drive-In teams which won Sunset and Valley League championships before heading for state semi-pro tournaments in Bellingham. He also played in the City League for McKinley Hill for two seasons where he was one of the league's best receivers and most dangerous hitters. At Lincoln Geppert was Co-captain and All-City in football, a steady performer on the Abe basketball team which won the city title and placed 8th in the state tournament, and was both a catcher and a second baseman for Bill Mullen and his City and Cross-state league baseball champions who then played Yakima for the mythical state championship.
