2003 Hall of Fame Inductees BASEBALL
Frank Bonaro

one of the best of the best, Frank played in both the infield and the outfield for the Valley League champions of Edgewood and the City League champions of Kay Street. He was a graduate of Stadium high school where he played football, basketball and baseball for the Tigers. Always superb defensively, Bonaro also ranked among the top hitters in high school and semi-pro/amateur competition. His nickname was Bananas but nobody seems to remember how that started. Among his closest friends were Dave Minnitti and Frank Morrone and that trio not only provided the nucleus for those great Kay Street teams, they later umpired together for many years. Frank called baseball and softball games locally for 15 years.
