Frank Ruffo

At age 15 played for the Tacoma Tigers against a traveling team composed of Babe Ruth, Bob Meusel, and Earl Combs in Stadium Bowl in 1927. Vern Votaw pitched for Tacoma....Played for Shaffer Box. Co. in the Industrial League and for 12 years with Cammarano Bros. in the City League....Also played for Shelton in the Timber League, the Johnson Paint team that finished 6th at the nationals in Kansas, and spent one season in the P.C.L. with the Hollywood Stars, Boston's farm team....Ended his career playing softball for one season and his team played in the state tournament where they lost to Pasco 2-1 in 13 innings....Career highlights include hitting a homerun off of Grover Cleveland Alexander in a City League exhibition game and completing an unassisted triple play in Longbranch....Currently on the Board of Directors for the P.C.L. Tacoma Tigers baseball team.
