Jack Hermsen enjoyed an extensive fastpitch career with some of the area's most respected clubs in the area. He was a mainstay on the Irwin-Jones Dodgers team from 1951-1953 including the 1952 club that finished second at the fastpitch national championships in Bridgeport, CT. He then moved on to play for the Wood Realty Ramblers in 1955 and 1956. In 1957 Jack played for Garman's Spring Air Mattress team that won the Puget Sound League championship and in 1958 he played for the Firefighters ballclub. Jack was inducted into the fastpitch category of the Tacoma-Pierce County Baseball-Softball Oldtimers Hall of Fame in 1987.
