Slowpitch Softball

Margaret, a 1968 graduate of Tacoma's Lincoln High School, has an extensive list of team and personal accomplishments in basketball, soccer, volleyball, field hockey, track and field and softball (both slowpitch and fastpitch). She was born Sept. 20, 1949 in Tacoma and currently lives in Puyallup. Margaret demonstrated All-Star skills for several local teams. From 1962-68 she played fastpitch for Royale's. Other than a 1979 return to fastpitch, playing for the Polar Bears, she was a standout slowpitch player from 1969 into the early 80s. She played for Pacific Lanes (1969), Noels (1970-71), Little Jim's Pub (1972-74), Schooner Tavern (1975), BJ's Bingo (1976) and The Haven Tavern (1977-82). She was an All-Star for Noels in 1970, Little Jim's Pub in 1972 and The Haven Tavern in 1978.

She participated in national tournaments with the Polar Bears fastpitch team (1979 in Bay City, Michigan), and BJ's Bingo slowpitch team (1976 in Chattanooga, Tennessee). She was also selected to play in an exhibition All-Star game at the World Softball Tournament at Cheney Stadium in 1980.
