Umpire

Since graduating from Bellarmine in 1971, Rick has been a local educator, coach and game official. He began umpiring baseball in 1982. He has called high school state championship games, college ball, many Babe Ruth and American Legion tournaments and also been a Pacific Coast League fill-in umpire.

Rick, who was born in Tacoma in 1953, has also worked many fastpitch softball games including the ASA men's national championship and the NSA World Series tournaments. In 2005, he was the Washington Officials Association Umpire of the Year.

Rick has also refereed basketball for 30 years, including five state high school tournaments and two championship games.
